In a bid to become more efficient in our project delivery and work smarter, efficiently and faster within our design and management teams, Hydro-Utilities contacted Bentley Systems to provide an appropriate solution. For the solution we required, our focus was to ensure every project attained frictionless collaboration, regardless of its complexity, or the location of our team members, and ensure timeous output delivery. As a result, Hydro Utilities acquired Bentley’s ProjectWise 365 Collaboration Tool in April 2020. ProjectWise 365 is a full cloud-based solution that is able to access information faster and more reliably, wherever design team members are located, but it also enables team members to virtually work together on design reviews, and systematically track feedback, issues, and deadlines, all in one instant-on solution.
With ProjectWise 365 in place, we are able to ensure that project participants – whether in the office, on site, or otherwise remote – could all readily collaborate on design work, using just an internet connection and password. Not only can engineers quickly and easily access information from anywhere, but they can also trust that the design files they work on are the latest versions, and readily provide and view feedback on these designs.
In addition, ProjectWise 365 is a single, automated platform that manages the status of outstanding tasks and deadlines. The application helps to ensure that project deliverables are submitted on time for review, checking and approvals all within working remotely. The application allows project deadlines to be set and team members to receive automated reminders when actions are required to be completed, for more efficient project management with less risk and rework.
Within a few months of using this application, we have realized significant productivity gains up to 50%, while delivering project outputs in up to half the time. This has helped greatly in project efficiency and management of deliverables on the projects that we work on.
